Fiber Does More Than Just Lower Cholestrol

If you have paid attention to the media recently, the experts are touting that getting more fiber in your diet will help lower cholesterol. This is good news with all the alleged problems and lawsuits against statins that lower cholesterol. Is it true though? What else can fiber do besides lower cholesterol to make it necessary for our diet? It is looking like if you get enough fiber in your diet, your chances reduce dramatically of acquiring many diseases you could be susceptible to as you get older.

What exactly does fiber help to prevent? New research has shown that a diet with enough fiber in it can reduce the chances of diverticulosis, diabetes (by slowing the release of sugars from the blood), heart disease (by, yes, lowering cholesterol), and other diseases. Currently, there are conflicting reports whether fiber helps prevent cancer, but if you do eat foods that have generous amounts of fiber in them (such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains) you also get plenty of minerals and vitamins that are very important to the body. Bonus, baby!!!

In a nut shell, this is what fiber does. It goes through the intestines and picks up all the wastes and toxins along the way. It continues to trek through the intestines, passing through quickly. Because fiber is going through so fast, it doesn't allow the waste time to settle and develop into health problems such as cancer or tumors. And yes, some of that waste is cholesterol, which the fiber helps to eliminate. Also, if you want weight loss, the intake of fiber helps give you a fullness feeling and as a result you don't want to eat as much. Thus, because you're not eating as much, you lose weight. Pretty nice, huh!

With our society's new diet of processed foods and lack of natural foods, Americans get on average 10 to 15 grams a day of fiber, but it is usually on the low end. Our diets consist of high saturated fats and proteins along with these processed carbohydrates. There really isn't a lot of fiber found in these foods. It gets lost in the processing. New studies have shown that if you can acquire around 30 to 35 grams of fiber a day, it will increase your health benefits and chances of preventing cancer. But unfortunately, some Americans couldn't identify a fruit or a vegetable if it were in front of them. Which, as you will learn, are great sources of fiber. So the obvious question would be, how does one change his/her diet to get enough fiber?

Good sources of fiber can be found in the following foods: apples, citrus fruits, strawberries, oats, oatmeal, potatoes, pasta, and dried beans. These are soluble fibers, meaning they dissolve in water. These fibers help lower the cholesterol and give you that fullness feeling mentioned earlier. Other great sources of fiber that help remove wastes and possibly prevent cancer are: crunchy vegetables, whole wheat grains, and whole wheat pasta. These foods don't dissolve in water and are commonly called insoluble fibers. They help with waste removal as well as possible cancer prevention. Really try to avoid foods that are processed such as white breads and white pastas.

All in all you want to make sure you get a lot of fiber in your diet, but don't neglect your proteins and carbohydrates so you can really get a balanced diet and acquire the nutrients your body needs to run efficiently. So, bottom line is that if you are a person that has high cholesterol, fiber will definitely help you lower it. Along with lowering the cholesterol, you will also get a lot of added health benefits that might help you lead a long and happy life.

Thai Treatments And Their Amazing Growth In The West

The art of massage has been around for thousands of years. Since before humans first appeared on the earth, the act of touching has been one of the most important aspects to communication. Massage has been a way to communicate and heal, both in the physical sense and in the emotional sense. Over time, the art of massage has been used in conjunction with medical practices to improve the body, and also to help people become more “centered”.

One of the most popular and effective forms of massage therapy is Thai massage. Though in past years it has been practised mostly in the Orient, it has started to become a very prevalent form of therapy in the west as well.

The basics of Thai treatment and massage are simple, yet highly effective. The goals of Thai treatments are to increase flexibility, stimulate the organs of the body, and increase a person’s overall energy. It is done with both the hands and the feet of an experienced Thai masseuse. Instead of focusing on one particular area, the goal of Thai treatment and massage is to treat the entire person, and to affect the physical and the emotional state.

A typical Thai treatment can take up to two hours. The recipient of the treatment will lie on a comfortable mat on the floor, and the masseuse will use a gentle yet firm compression to ‘open up’ the various parts of the body. Sometimes the masseuse’s foot will be used to hold parts of the body down while manipulating with the hands, other times his or her feet will actually be massaging as well. The body is also placed into various positions to stretch and open up the organs, joints, and limbs.

The reason that Thai treatment has become so prevalent in the west is clearly obvious; stress is one of the biggest problems in today’s Western society. Juggling work and family, demanding careers and fierce competition in the job market, rising costs of education – all of these things contribute to ailments that are becoming more and more common today. This can be simple backaches and stiff joints to increasing vulnerability to bacterial and viral infections due to the imbalance of immune systems caused by stress. Though in the western culture “fads” seem to come and go, Thai treatment, like Yoga, has proven to be something that will most likely be here to stay as a viable treatment for today’s ills. One does not have to follow any certain type of religion or belief to be able to benefit from Thai treatment, nor do you have to seek it out for any specific type of injury, such as when you are seeking physical therapy. With Thai treatment, there is always something that can be helped and improved, and what many people find out is that they are helped in ways they hadn’t even been concerned about before. More and more spas in the west are offering Thai treatment these days, and for almost everyone it is certainly worth a try.

Essential Oils Commonly Used in Europe as Medicines, Why Not in the US?

Modern medicinal, therapeutic use of essential oils is finally being recognized in the US as a valid tool to compliment a diverse natural health, wellness and fitness program. There is still a significant amount of resistance to this science, mainly from 'quackwatch' type individuals, but it is suspected their true backing is from companies marketing synthetic chemical concoctions to address every conceivable ill. 'Big Pharma' for example, is THE industry with the highest average profit margins on earth, and is dedicated to producing, patenting, marketing selling new, unnatural chemical compounds that are supposed to answer every need of health and wellness. With some formulations they do remarkably well; with others they appear to act with a total disregard for human safety and welfare, concentrating only beating Wall Street analysts' profit estimates for the upcoming quarter, and moving stock prices ever higher. How effective, really, are essential oils in treating stress and disease in humans, and how can you learn more? Let's review the current state of affairs, and see how you might investigate their use in your own natural health and wellness lifestyle.

Aromatherapy is the branch of botanical (plant-based) medicine using a particular class of compounds - no more, no less. It just so happens these compounds smell exceptionally nice - does medicine have to be nasty to work? And do drugs made by high-tech means always result in the best of these medicines? This seems unreasonable, given the fact that a very high percentage of today's modern 'drugs' are extracts of wild plants, though they have been encapsulated and manipulated so that ownership may be granted under patent law. This doesn't mean a natural preparation of the plant can be any less effective! And what, physically, are essential oils? If you boil or send steam through plant matter, collect the steam and allow it to cool, an oil-like liquid will float atop the water. Essential oil. That's it! The chemicals made by the plant that do not dissolve in water. Interestingly enough, this 'lipophillic' nature of essential oils makes them even more compatible and absorbable with our physiology than many other plant compounds. No reason to turn our backs on them as medicines, eh?

The education seems inevitable, however. As more folks get fed up with the costs and red tape of our allopathic medical system, they are paying more attention to reports on the efficacy of natural remedies. The use of essential oils has been shown as, if not more, than any other available medicine in certain instances. For Irritable Bowel Syndrome, a painful and debilitating condition, Peppermint essential oil taken during and after bouts of the disease has profound effects on pain, duration, and recurrence of the illness - more so than the most commonly used modern medical treatment. Patients using Peppermint oil felt better than those using conventional treatments, in part because the natural antibiotic effect leaves much needed intestinal flora in balance. It is this balance that is inherent in knowledgeably practiced natural medicine; a facet which occurs with essential oils and many other so-called alternative therapies.

Another widely published effect of a particular essential oil is that of the powerful anti-viral (and anti-depressant) Melissa oil. Melissa herb has long been used in natural medicine, often for it's stress relieving effects and nervous system support. Now, many university studies in Europe have confirmed it's effect on treating Herpes outbreaks, the result of a viral infection that has, until now, been considered incurable by the modern medical establishment. Outbreaks tend to occur when an individual is under particularly stressful conditions - and although the aroma of Melissa is thought to relieve stress, one of it's chemical components has been shown in the laboratory to eradicate certain virus types. Topical application of Melissa oil to Herpes legions has reduced the pain, duration, and frequency of the outbreaks in a significant number of study participants. Some have even experienced complete remission of the disease! A definite seal of approval for efficacy of essential oils as natural health and wellness medicine.

Then, of course, there is the 'aroma' therapeutic aspect of essential oil use. The hard facts show the olfactory sense of the brain is wired directly to vital control centers of the gray matter - particularly those governing emotions, stress levels and, well we're not sure how this relates to your health, but sexual arousal as well. And with acceptance of the importance of one's mental health relating to their physical well being continuing to grow, Aromatherapy may eventually find it's place in hospitals and doctor's offices alongside stethoscopes, syringes and cotton swabs. Many, many studies have shown the self-evaluated improvements in mood and stress levels when inhaling particular essential oils - and because stress is considered by many health professionals as THE number one cause of disease, it's a short leap to believe the inhalation of spirit-lifting aromas can result in improved states of health.

Aromatherapy in a natural health, wellness and fitness regime is not a cure-all, miracle path to health, however. Like any other medicine or treatment, it has it's place, and should be used when it provides the best combination of safety and efficacy. How do you find out if essential oils can help you, your friends or your loved ones? Educate yourself! There are several wonderful books available on medical and clinical aromatherapy. Some will deal mostly with the psychological aspects, others mainly in treatment of infectious illness, and others touch on every conceivable application. Buy them, get them from your library, borrow them from friends - but educate yourself as much as possible, and find a degreed practitioner if need be. But most of all, give Aromatherapy a chance. The particular class of plant compounds called 'essential oils', which just happen to smell nice, have as much validity as any other field of medicine, and deserves to be appreciated with the same respect. Whether they work for you is up to your own knowledge and dedication to the practice!

Is Personalized Medicine at our Doorstep?

Personalized medicine is coming. What does that mean? It means that our genes will determine what type of medical treatment we get. We know, in any disease, that some people respond favorably to therapy while others do not. We assume that this is partially due to our genes. Some studies have shown correlations between the genes that a patient has and their response to specific medications.

One example is new study that will look at the interaction between a patient's genes and treatment with the blood thinning drug, warfarin. Over two million Americans that are at risk of stroke currently take this drug to prevent blood clotting. The problem is that patients all need different amounts to keep their blood at the right clotting potential. Too much drug can lead to excessive bleeding because the blood is too thin. Too little drug and the blood gets too thick, meaning it can clot easily and lead to stroke. Currently doctors determine these doses by trial and error, monitoring patients very closely until they find the right amount. The new study will follow 1,000 at-risk stroke patients after genetic fingerprinting to see if a patient's unique genes can predict their optimal dose.

This is the goal of personalized medicine, not just for warfarin, but for all drugs and non-drug therapies. Sounds like a great idea, right? There would be no more guesswork for the doctors; a higher probability of success for the therapeutics; and less patients going on drugs unnecessarily.

How Genetic Fingerprinting Works

Genetic fingerprinting works by determining what specific stretches of DNA are unique to any given person. Humans have about 30,000 genes (give or take a few thousand) and each of these genes are made up of thousands of individual bases, or links, that are joined up in a long chain. There are four different kinds of links and the order in which they are joined acts as a code to determine your genes. The vast majority of these links are identical in everyone with only a very small percentage of links differing from person to person. However, these differences are mostly in the same place across people. To get a genetic fingerprint, researchers don't need to look at all of your links in all of your genes. They only need to look at the points that tend to be different, a million or so out of billions of links.

This technology has only been around a few years and we are still improving it at a very rapid rate. Currently it costs about $1,000 dollars per person to do the fingerprinting and that figure will likely fall dramatically within a few years. Still, considering that your genes don't change throughout life, a one time cost of $1,000 to get ‘genotyped' is not outrageous and will likely be available to the general public in a very short time, at least from a technological viewpoint. Public policy needs come first.

What are the Ethical Implications?

This technology has incredible promise for medical science, but also carries incredible burden for medical ethics. Some of the issues we will face as a society are these:

If you are determined to have genes that put you at a dramatically increased risk for disease in your adult years would you want to know? Would you want to know that information about your kids? If there were treatment options or lifestyle choices you could make that would minimize your risk you might think very differently about this question than if there were no treatments.

Who should have access to your genetic information? You? Your doctor? Your insurance company? Insurance companies today base their rates on average risk factors across a population. If genes can accurately predict disease risk then should insurance rates be personalized as well? If this were the case, it is likely that some people would be uninsurable because the risk would be too high.

What about in-utero genotyping? Should doctors perform genotyping on fetuses before they are even born? What if this would avoid early life complications for some children with risk of disorders? This will be a huge ethical debate.

This technology is at our doorstep. And it is only the beginning of ethical issues. Genetic finger printing simply provides information about the genes you are naturally born with. What will happen if we also develop the genetic engineering technology to alter ‘bad genes'? Again, you may think very differently about this question if you are correcting your child's genes to prevent an inevitable pre-adult death than you would about choosing their eye color. But where will we draw the line? There is bound to be a large gray area.

For one view of this scenario, rent the movie GATACA, starring Ethan Hawke and Jude Law. It is about a future where society has implemented this technology. You will have to decide whether it is fiction or foresight.

Nutrition & Diet Therapy For Better Health

According to theories from biologists, the normal lifespan of human beings are 120 years old. However, 99.9% died of sickness, due to several reasons such as:

* Pollution
* Water Pollution
* Agricultural
* Lack of exercise
* Stress
* Imbalanced Nutrition
* Abnormal Lifestyle

In particular, the accumulation of excess fat, increase of blood acidity and deterioration of body's metabolism mechanism can cause several health problems. Intial problems experienced are fatigue, headache, insomnia, poor eating appetite, lower resistance against cold and flu and dizziness. These are mild and can get serious after a long period of time.

More serious health problems include constipation, fatigue and weakness, hormone imbalance, digestive problems, skin problems, anemia and obesity.

Finally, the onset of very serious health problems when the health condition is not improved on, these includes heart disease, nervous disorders, diabetes, cancer, stroke, arthritis, liver and kidney problems, high blood pressure and rheumatism.

What have all these got to do with our diet? Everything! The food we eat affects our body acidity, fats percentage and directly affects our health in many ways. Nutrients required in a healthy diet includes thhe basic four: water, protein, carbohydrates and fats. Besides these, micronutrients are also essential and required in smaller quantities. These includes vitamins and minerals.

10 Concepts of Nutrition & Diet Therapy

1. Human health is maintained by nutrition, not medicine

2. Selective eating of certain dishes is unhealthy. If the food is good for health, you should eat it.

3. Nutrition will affect a person health, happiness, mental thoughts, physical appearances, marriage and career.

4. Eat the most natural food available, over processed food contains little of its original nutritional values. For example: black sugar is healthier than white sugar, black bread (not burnt bread!) is more nutritious than white bread, and brown rice is better than white rice.

5. Lack of a certain nutrient will lead to deficiency in other nutrients. For example: insufficient cholic and lipid acid will result in the blood unable to absorb vitamins A, D, E and K. This, in turn, has further implications. Without vitamin D, calcium cannot be absorbed, and inadequate vitamin E cannot prevent the destruction of vitamin A, making it useless.

6. As all nutrients are mutually related, balanced nutrition in our body is important. Without magnesium, vitamin B6 cannot be absorbed in our body, and calcium will be lost in the urine. In infants body, potassium will be released from the cells that cause the cramp of large intestine.

7. Nutrients have balancing effects and this must be taken into consideration when planning a healthy diet. For example: excessive vitamin B6 in healthy people will result in stomatitis of vitamin B2 deficiency. On the other hand, excessive B2 will cause vitamin B deficiency. A symptom of this is when your tongue starts to hurt. It is advisable to not take any nutrient in high doses for a sustained period of time.

8. Stress is a direct contributing factor of under nourishment as it exhausts large amounts of the body nutrients. Stress is when a person is overworked, sustain injury, ill-tempered, becomes infected by virus or bacteria, suffers from exhaustion due to lack of sleep, lack of exercise, or a reaction to drugs or toxicants. Disease has 3 stages: warning, resistance and exhaustion. Adequate nutrition is required at the warninig stage.

9. Any disease should be treated by a qualified physician, but if your nutrition level is improved first, your health can be restored at a faster rate, and the nutrients can minimise the side effects of drugs.

10. The importance of medicine cannot be denied, and the rapid action of antibiotics and other drugs is vital in recovering from diseases. However, diet therapy prossess some effects that drugs cannot give, because it helps to strengthen the body during the treatment of the disease.

Proper Sitting Position And Microbreaks

Sitting at a work station often results in the "slouch" syndrome. The back bends forward, causing the spine to literally hang on it's ligaments. You can easily alleve this often painful position by shifting positions, doing quick easy stretches and rearranging your workstation to encourage better posture. Selecting a few exercises and peforming microbreaks which allow brief movement which will improve posture and reduce pain.

HERE ARE SOME POSTURAL ADJUSTMENTS THAT CAN BE MADE AT YOUR WORK STATION:

1)The head and neck should be upright.

2)The arms should be parallel to the floor.

3)The wrists should be kept straight.

4)The low back should be supported. If there is no support use a pillow.

5)The feet should be flat on the floor or on a foot rest.

The above postural corrections are the first step in improving workplace posture which can cause pain to your back shoulder and neck areas.

FOLLOWING ARE ACTUAL ADJUSTMENTS TO YOUR WORK STATION WHICH WILL FURTHUR CORRECT POSTURAL DEVIATIONS FOUND IN THE WORKPLACE:

1)Adjust the height of the chair to the keyboard so the keyboard sits right over your lap. Elbows should be resting at your side, bent about 90 degrees with the wrists straight.

2)Adjust the back rest so it leans back and the lumbar support is placed over your lower back. If there is no lumbar support, use a pillow. The seat of the chair should tilt slightly downwards or you can use a small seat wedge so your thighs and ankles turn slightly downward.

3)Place the chair or desk under the desk or keyboard. This may require the armrests to be removed.

4)The monitor should be at arms length with the top of the monitor at eye level.

5)Keep work and reading material as close to the video terminal as possible in a verticle position.

6)Keep the phone close by. Don't hold your head on your shoulder. Use your hand to hold the phone or use a headset.

7)When bending and reaching, slide to the front of the chair, keeping one hand on the desk and one foot in front.

The above "set up" will help you avoid many overuse type injuries and furthur improve your posture.

HERE ARE SOME SIMPLE, QUICK WORK- STATION EXERCISES DESIGNED TO PREVENT INJURY, STRENGTHEN AND STRETCH MUSCLES AND GIVE YOU DAILY ENERGY. THEY ARE ALSO GOOD MICROBREAK CHOICES.

1)Perform a stand up-sit down squat five times each hour. Reach your arms towards the ceiling each time. This will work and stretch every muscle in your body, raise your heart rate and keep your brain sharp.

2)While sitting, rotate the neck in circles both directions. Then hold it to the right and then to the left. Finally hold your chin on your chest. Do this a few times a day to thoroughly stretch your neck.

3)For your back, sit straight up with your hands on your waist. gently lean from one side to the other. For the upper back squeeze your shoulder blades together for 10-20 seconds twice daily.

4)For your eyes, shut them tight and open wide. Do five times, twice a day.

5) For your forearms, clench your fists and put your arms straight out in front of you. Bend your wrist up and feel the stretch in your forearm. Bend your wrists down and feel the opposite stretch. Hold for 5-10 seconds, twice daily.

6) Contract your abdominals for about 10-30 second five times a day.

7) Do some deep breathing off and on throughout the day. This relieves both mental and physical stress.

It is normal to experience fatigue and pain from a sit down job. If your pain is normal, try some of the suggestions in this article. Change your workstation posture, make workstation adjustments and perform simple workstation exercises. If your pain does not subside and you feel an ongoing discomfort, numbness or experience a decreased ability to work, seek professional care.

Maximum Morning Fat Burn

The question, “on is morning cardio really the absolute best time to burn fat” has become a major research topic for bodybuilders, fitness experts, and people seeking weight loss. Morning cardio is not only known for burning more percentage of fat but for keeping the metabolism firing all throughout the day. This debate and theory has gone back and forth but finally scientist have come up with strong evidence why and how doing cardio in the morning before breakfast is more effective on burning fat for over all weight loss.

On the other hand many believe strongly that as long as you burn more calories than you consume in a day than when you exercise does not make a difference.

Now, this doesn’t mean you should only do cardio in the morning and not any other time in the day as many people are every busy in the morning. I recommend for weight loss that exercising anytime that works for you is the best. The reason I recommend doing your cardio in the morning is that it is believed to burn 3 times more fat, keeps your metabolism high all day, and is the best anti suppressant to eliminate your hunger cravings.

Research by scientist with morning cardio has strong arguments:

1. Doing cardio after an 8-12 hour overnight fast right when waking up in the morning, our body’s glycogen storages are mostly depleted. In this state when doing morning cardio our bodies are forced to use mostly fat because our glycogen storages are depleted.
2. When eating insulin is released this interferes from our body using fat for energy. In the morning, insulin is limited leading to more body fat than calories from food are being burned when doing cardio.
3. If you don’t know already carbohydrates when broken down are turned into glucose, so having less glucose floating around in your blood stream will lead you to burn more fat than glucose for weight loss.
4. When eating right before a workout, burning off all those calories you just ate will be your body’s number one priority before burning body fat.
5. Doing cardio in the morning is by far the absolute the best way to keep your metabolism elevated throughout the day. When cardio is done in the evening, calories are burned during the exercise, but sorry to say it does not take advantage of the “after burn” as when you go to sleep your metabolism drop dramatically.

Scientist has proven these additional benefits from morning cardio:

1. Feeling great all day caused by the releasing mood-enhancing endorphins.
2. Energized and a great way to wake you up.
3. Depressing your appetite for the whole day.
4. Morning cardio helps our circadian rhythm making it easier to wake up in the morning at the same time.
5. When exercise is done early in the day, people are less likely to skip the workout as being tired after work, and friends can distract you leading you missing workouts.
6. Making time for exercise is as easy as setting your alarm earlier in the morning.
7. Increasing metabolism rate throughout the day to burn fat all day long.

For a lot of people the trouble is starting out and staying motivated so beginning with 30 minute to 1 hour sessions in the morning three times a week is an excellent way to start out. Just remember that you are burning 3x more fat and once you are finished the rest of the day is yours.
Exercise is an excellent stress release that makes life a whole lot more enjoyable with out feeling stressed out, and tired 24/7.

Last tips for more the most fat in less time is by doing the “HITT” program. The HITT program is done with high and low intensity like sprinting for 50 yards as hard as you can and walking for 20 yards than repeating. It can also be done on a stair climber, treadmill, bike, etc. This type of exercise will burn more fat in less time and will keep your heart rate higher leading to more calories burned.

Doing morning cardio does not only benefit body builders and fitness professionals but to everyone that wants to take advantage of exercise for weight loss or just a healthy life. This theory on morning cardio has not been 100% proven but the results people have received are incredible, and speak for themselves.

Make the most out of your workouts for better weight loss results.

Have a great day and God bless!

How To Think Like A Winning Day Trader

What makes the best traders successful? Are they "lucky"? Have they discovered some "secret" indicator? No. They've learned the truth about trading. Trading success is a simple as 1-2-3.

Step 1 - Understand what trading is really about;
Step 2 - Learn what a winning day trader does;
Step 3 - Then do it. Continually.

1. The Essence Of Successful Trading

Trading is all about percentages. You enter a trade because you believe that it's more likely to succeed than fail. The job of finding favourable trades goes to your trading system. There are numerous books and courses about trading systems. The actual trading system you use is beyond the scope of this article, but please, please, understand this: If you're searching for the perfect trading system - you know, the one that delivers profits on demand - you'll be searching until the end of time.

Successful trading is simply a game of probabilities. Does that disappoint you? Were you hoping for something a little more intellectual? Do you know how many academics - doctors and lawyers particularly - lose fortunes in the market each year? The positive bias comes from your trading system. Our advice is keep it simple. Find a system you're comfortable with. Know the setups. Understand why and when you enter and exit. Then stick to it.

Sure, some trading systems offer a higher profitability than others. But don't get hung up on it. Just don't get too caught up on it. The real determining factor is your ability to follow it.

2. What Makes A Successful Day Trader

A successful day trader is someone who follows a trading plan. Your trading plan tells you when to enter a trade, and when to exit. An entry point. An exit point - either a target or just to get stopped out. Parabolic SAR, lower bollinger, natural support and resistance, volatility stop. Whatever.

Any trader must understand the timeless law of probability. That with a positive bias and a sensible approach to money-management (cutting your losses and letting your profits run), eventually you'll come out ahead.

What makes day trading so challenging is the speed. You simply execute trades faster, and compound your profits faster - which is why we do it.

That's why a day trader is NOT a stressed-out, valium-swallowing, adrenaline junkie who lives from one minute to the next.

A good (i.e. profitable) day trader knows that it's just another trade. It's all just statistics in action.

The important point here is consistency. Like the heads/tails example, the one time you don't take a trade is when the market takes off and never looks back. Day trading is boring. Keep it that way.

3. How To Develop The Day Trading Mind

Every time you sit down at your trading screen, remind yourself that "trading is statistics in action". Nobody knows what the market is going to do next. It's a law unto itself. You follow what works "most of the time".

When you understand that trading is about probabilities, that any trading system is designed to provide a positive bias over the long term, then all you have to do is execute the plan. So what is it that prevents you from being successful? You.

Or rather, the emotional you.

You need to work on developing the mindset of a professional trader. Try this routine for 30 days and see how you go:

BEFORE: (At the start of trading day)

Step 1 - close your eyes, and remind yourself of the truths of trading: "Trading is all about probabilities". Write this on a yellow Post-It note and stick it to your monitor. Permanently.

Step 2 - Mentally see yourself following your trading plan. Entering a trade on signal. Exiting at the right time. Trading the right size for your account.

Step 3 - Visualize each trade as a tiny part of a big picture. You might want to visualize it as a matrix, with 100 boxes. Each trade is unimportant compared to the overall scheme. Create your own image for this. (Your own is best.) Trading is a visual process. The point is you need a visual metaphor to distance yourself from the immediacy of real-time trading. Anything.

DURING: (When in a trade)

Step 1 - Physically relax. Remember the definition of emotion? "A physical disturbance." You need to reduce emotional power as much as possible. Prevent it from creeping up on you, and doing something silly. So you don't feed it. Relax. Be aware of your whole body. Remember the last time you got stressed. What did it feel like? Tense shoulders? Stomach muscles tightening? Relax those areas now. Know thyself.

Note - none of this suggests that you should be slow about entering or executing trades. Quite the opposite! In real-time trading you must be fast. But you are operating from your rational, thinking mind... and not the panic-induced animal mind fighting for survival!

Step 2 - Breathe! Some traders stop breathing completely in a trade! Breathe in slowly for a count of four, hold it for four, and breathe out for four.

Step 3 - Focus on yourself. Following a trading plan is a "no brainer". You enter. You trail a stop. You exit. Self-talk helps stay in the state. Remember that when you're watching the price in real-time, there's a tremendous danger of adding emotional fuel to a simple situation. Watch how you're feeling. Observe any tension and let it go.

Step 4 - Watch your language! Words affect us profoundly. Ever had someone scream at you? Stirred up lots of emotion, didn't it? So don't scream at the market. Speak calmly. Commentate on what the market's doing. Speak out loud. "The current trade began at hh:mm, the system gave a buy signal at price level, the target is with a stop at.. Stop loss was moved to break even at as per the plan... The market is currently in trading range between x and y..."

All this helps you to stay objective. Also, avoid "what if" thinking. Creativity has no place in trading! Be mechanical. Be
objective.

Step 5 - Continually remind yourself of what successful trading is. See the current trade as just another trade. on just another day. Your job is to follow the system -- professionally and without emotion. With practice, you truly won't care whether the current trade turns a profit or a loss.

AFTER:

Review. How did you do? Were you trading rationally, or emotionally? How much? This isn't black and white. It's about balance. Think of it as 2 bar charts. The higher the rational level, and the lower the emotional level, the more successful you'll become. Master yourself. And the money will follow.

How Does The Forex Market Work?

The forex market is a huge international exchange where different currencies are traded, i.e. both bought and sold. It is estimated to be the largest financial market in the world, and is not governed by the rules of any one country. In addition to this, while it is open from Sunday to Friday, it is a 24 hour market and does not experience a daily closing like a traditional stock market. It is, thus, not regulated and there are no international panels to settle disputes nor are there any clearing houses to stand as guarantors of trades on the exchange. There is nothing more binding than a credit agreement between the buyer and seller in the forex market, and it works.

While this seems very nebulous to most stock market investors, forex traders are forced by competition and the need for cooperation to remain honest. There is no way for a trader to survive in the forex market unless he or she keeps up their end of the deal. Most countries will have their own body or association that serve to regulate the forex traders or brokers in that country and ensure that clients' rights are protected. This association will insist on its members accepting the decisions of their arbitration panel in case of disputes. In the United States, this organization is generally considered to be the National Futures Association or the NFA.

Another important aspect of the forex market to keep in mind is that on the market itself, there are no commissions, and thus it works on principal amount only. The so called forex brokers make money not by taking a commission from the trading parties, but by facilitating the trade itself and making their bit on the bid ask spread, i.e. the difference between the selling and buying prices. The implication is that they are not brokers in the traditional sense of the word, but more like forex traders themselves.

The single most attractive aspect of the forex market is that it is practically impossible for any investor, group of investors or financial institutions to misuse it. It is such a large market, with money flowing through it daily in estimated trillions of dollars, that no single entity, however large, can gain a statistically significant control over the forex market. This means that it is completely free of any influences, beyond the true fundamental driving forces that move it. The implication here is that this market offers every investor the same opportunity, regardless of size or influence, making it a free and fair market place, possibly the only one in the world. This aspect is very attractive to small investors in particular, since they are often the ones to suffer the most from stock market scams and fraudulent activity.

While these factors make the forex market more appealing to invest money on, it is also hard to make money on this market due to the fact that the forex trader has to always do better than the bid ask spread, which makes the opportunities for arbitrage profit limited. However, with no extra commissions and charges, the forex trader is left to enjoy every last bit of profit that he or she does make, once they are past the bid ask spread mark. Overall, the forex market is the place for a smart, vigilant and well trained investor.

Health Benefits of Massage

More and more Americans are turning to massage to relieve the stresses of everyday life. It is pleasant and relaxing to receive an aromatherapy massage in a quiet spa. However, massage actually can have significant health benefits beyond the simple relaxation of a basic spa massage.

Massage therapy has been proven to reduce the amounts of the stress hormone cortisol in the body. Cortisol is the hormone that causes the symptoms of stress including muscle pain, irritability, headaches and other physical symptoms. Digestion, which is often directly affected by stress, can be improved by application of regular massages.

Additionally, some scientists suspect that massage may release endorphins which produce a "high" or a sense of well-being similar to that which is achieved by exercise. Because of this effect, massage therapy has been particularly useful in helping arthritis patients who may not be able to exercise regularly. Massage can also help arthritis patients improve the range of motion in their joints.

Massage may also help improve circulation. It is theorized that the stroking motion of massage encourages healthy blood flow and assists in clearing toxins from the blood. The stroking motion may also assist the flow of lymph fluid. Lymph fluid bolsters the body's immune system, leading to increased resistance to disease.

Shiatsu massage, which uses some of the same principles as acupuncture, tai chi and other types of Chinese medicine can be used to treat more specific illnesses. Unlike a regular massage session at a spa, a shiatsu practitioner will take your medical history and ask you questions about specific symptoms, diet and exercise. Some of the conditions treated by shiatsu massage include asthma, menstrual cramps, arthritis, insomnia and constipation.

Ayurvedic massage is a 5,000 tradition of holistic healing including massage. Ayurvedic massage places emphasis on using scented oils and healing herbs to heal and relax the body. People can learn how to give themselves an Ayurvedic massage which, if performed in the morning, can increase vitality, circulation and stamina throughout the day.

Certain people should avoid all types of massage. These include people with open wounds or rashes, people with circulatory disorders, people who have had recent surgery and people with a history of blood clots. People with cancer should avoid massage following radiation or chemotherapy treatment and should avoid direct massage of any area with a tumor. Pregnant women are advised to avoid abdominal massage during the first three months of pregnancy.

Types of Breast Implant Available Today

Breast augmentation, and in particular breast enlargement, is big business today. Once inserted into a patients breasts the look and feel of the implants is paramount. Since their inception, breast implants have undergone many transformations from their crude beginnings to a sophisticated and effective modern day implant suiting a variety of needs.

Implant variations:

Implant fillings

Three main types of breast implant filling exist, silicone, sterile saline water, and cohesive gel (still in development).

In the Unite States there are principally two main producers of breast implants, Mentor and Inamed. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) only approve implants filled with saline water. The salinity is equal in concentration to that of human blood and therefore poses no threat if leaked into someone's body, unlike the potentially lethal silicone. The new cohesive silicone has a consistency of wine gums making it far less likely to leak out of any potential openings of an implant, therefore much safer. Currently the only way to obtain these new implants is to find a responsible surgeon undergoing trials.

There are both advantages and disadvantages associated with the various types of implant shapes and textures:

Smooth or textured

Smooth implants move around freely in the space created for them. Their tough skin is thinner than a textured breast implant, additionally these implants last longer before needing to be replaced.

Textured breast implants attach to the surrounding tissue meaning they are more likely to remain in the same position in the breast. These implants were created so that they would prevent the complication known as 'capsular contracture'. Whether they achieved their aim remains debatable. Rippling of the tissue attached to the rough edge of the implant is visible sometimes when the breast tissue and implant move in opposite directions. Smooth implants tend to cause less rippling. Another problem with this implant is that it is more likely to leak its contents than a smooth implant.

Round or contoured

Two rough implant shapes exist, round and contoured. Contoured (or 'anatomical') implants were originally used for breast reconstructive purposes, they are now used in breast augmentation. Adopting a conical shape, implanted with their cone end upwards, these implants are so called 'bottom-heavy', more weight concentrated at the bottom. These have the less desirable habit of being able to flip or turn in their cavity and so tend to have a textured outer layer.

High profile implants

These are modifications of the basic flatter round breast implant. High profile implants have a smaller diameter base, more of the contents being projected upwards to provide a more natural breast shape when seen from the side.

Remember, if you are thinking of having breast surgery choose a well known professional surgeon. Go and discuss your decision with him/ her so that you both feel comfortable with the way in which to move forward. More often than not a surgeon will prefer a particular company when it comes to implant choice. He/ she should be able to justify their decision easily. If you have any discrepancies simply ask.

Breast Enlargement - How Does it Work?

Do you feel inadequate because other women have bigger breasts than you? And it seems that by the number of women going under the knife to have breast enhancement, it is actually gaining in popularity. Other women actually have different reasons for having breast enlargement. There was even a time when artificial breast implant really looks artificial. Breast implants usually are round, hard and unmoving. Others do it because it makes them feel alluring; others do it because it gives them confidence; and others out of inadequacy. For what ever other reasons, or one just simply want to have breast enlargement; a lot of questions that are being asked are if I take breast enhancement pills, is it guaranteed to work?

Due to the advancement of science and technology, women actually now have options for breast enlargement. One is through surgical operation or by taking breast enhancement pills. And the question now is does the breast enhancement pill work? It does up to certain degree, obviously women who want to have breast enlargement are willing to use it. But, there are also some side effects to these breast enhancements that the women should know. One is that in order for the breast enhancement pill to work, one must avoid caffeine as much as possible. Now, if you want breast enlargement you must stay away from caffeine. Then always remember to use topical breast enhancement cream which is very helpful with its breast growth encouraging ingredients, with breast enhancement pills for it to work.

Now if you want the breast enhancement to work, one should slow down on carbohydrates while taking the pills. It seems that when the higher the protein is, these breast enhancement pills seem to work. So, in order to have that really nice breast, one must follow all the guidelines that came with it in order to have maximum result for breast enlargement. And that means you have to follow all the instructions that comes with taking the breast enhancement pills, or else the breast enlargement would be jeopardize. When it says take a certain amount of pill morning and night time, do it, or else you won¡¯t be having the maximum result it promised if you won¡¯t do as your told. And you won¡¯t have the promised breast enlargement, you so badly wanted. Sometimes you have to adhere to a certain lifestyle, while still on the breast enhancement pills. In order for it to work, and for it to deliver the promised breast enlargement you so wanted.

Some women, who opted for surgical implants, usually have breast enlargement maximized. They then opted to dress very daringly, flaunting their breast enlargement job for everyone to see. But, they really look good, the total effect it has on women is very obvious, women tend to walk breast out, more confident, and that¡¯s because of the breast enlargement they had. It¡¯s nice to know that a woman could become confident by having the breast enlargement procedure, and if it¡¯s the result that comes with breast enlargement then whoever want to undergo the procedure so be it. But, if surgical implants is not for you then go for the enhancement pill.

Because if these breast enhancement pills are taken incorrectly, or if not in the right dosage then the result is going to be disappointing, when you¡¯re told to take a certain amount of these pills, at a specific time, then do so religiously, or the promised breast enlargement won¡¯t be yours for the taking. So, the success of these breast enlargements is actually in the hands of the end users themselves. If they really badly wanted the breast enlargement to work then they should be very careful in monitoring the times when they need to take the pills in order for the breast enlargement to work.

Dry Skin Treatment With Herbal And Ayurvedic Remedies

Excessively dry skin can put a great dampener on the overall appearance of the person. Dry skin lacks the glow and the sheen of normal skin. It can become easily scratched and cracked, due to which there could be bruises on the skin even with slight frictions. Dry skin also loses its natural color. For all these reasons, it is very necessary to get dry skin treated as soon as possible.

Dry skin is generally caused due to environmental conditions. It is observed in cold weather, when the climate is too dry and cool. Since the climate is dry, it absorbs the water content of the skin, due to which it becomes dry. In this sense, dry skin is caused by vata vitiation. But sometimes, the skin becomes dry in the hot season also. If this happens, then the cause is a pitta vitiation.

(1) Useful Herbs/Plants in the Treatment of Dry skin

1. Aloe vera (Aloe vera)

Aloe vera replenishes the skin by providing the nutrients it lacks. Its extracts are used for massaging the skin.

2. Apple (Malus domestica)

Apple contains potassium and tannin which are both necessary to maintain the healthy texture of the skin. Apple not only removes the dryness of the skin, but also makes it appear shinier.

3. Cucumber (Cucumis sativus)

Cucumber is beneficial if the dryness is especially over the face. The juices of the cucumber have a cooling effect on the face. Also the juices provide the lost water content to the face and reduce its dryness.

(2) Dietary Treatments for Dry skin

Since dry skin is caused due to vata or pitta vitiation, the diet should be designed to reduce these vitiations. Vata is the air element; while pitta is the fire element. The following guidelines must be followed:-

1. Cook your food in a little fat, suitably ghee. The food must not be totally dry.

2. If the dry skin is a result of vata vitiation (dry skin in cold weather), then eat foods that are heavy on the stomach. But do not use much spices.

3. If the dry skin is a result of pitta vitiation (dry skin in hot weather), then eat light foods that are easy to digest. Use more fibers in the diet.

4. Sweet foods are good for both vitiations.

5. Eat lots of fruits. Consume more of the sweet foods to build up the starch content in the skin.

6. The best condiments and spices to be used in the diet are cumin, coriander and turmeric. These soothe the skin.

7. Water is the most important part of the diet for correcting dry skin. About 7 to 8 glasses of water must be consumed in a day. But the water should be at room temperature. Cold water will aggravate the vata further.

8. Avoid alcohol and caffeine-containing beverages since they can make the skin drier.

(3) Home Medications

a. In order to reduce the dryness of the skin, massage therapy must be used. Any herbal oil will do for the massage. Almond, avocado and olive oils are the best. The whole skin must be massaged and fingers must be used to dig deeper so as to pass the oil into the skin. After the massage, you must wait for about half an hour (keep the massaged skin exposed to the air if possible) and then go for a bath. The period helps the oil to permeate into the skin.

b. If the dryness is on the face, then make a paste of about a teaspoonful of rose water and two of honey. Smear this paste nicely on the face. Let it remain for a couple of minutes and then wash it off with slightly warm water.

c. Mayonnaise gives good results when applied on the dry skin and let be for some time.

d. An apple can be used for treating excessive dryness of the skin. Cut an apple in half and run its fleshy part on the skin. Apply a bit of pressure and squeeze the apple onto the skin to let its juices flow in.

e. Do not use tap water for washing the face. Tap water contains chloride ions which may harm the dry skin. Use mineral water instead. In a similar manner, do not use an ordinary soap on the skin. There are soaps available with moisturizers. Use them when having your bath.

Maintain a proper daily regimen. Try to get up at a fixed time each morning and go to bed at a fixed time. The adage ‘Early to bed and early to rise makes a person healthy, wealth and wise’ is very true in the case of dry skin.

Regular exercise is also important. Exercise makes the blood circulate better, due to which the nutrients are transported to all parts of the body. This will make the skin moister.

Ayurvedic, Dietary Treatment For Moles

Mole or nevus is a general term to describe several spots or blemishes that may occur on the skin. Moles are of vastly different kinds – in some people the moles may be of the color of the skin itself, while in others they could be red, tan, brown or even black. Moles could be tiny spots on the skin, or they could be large warty outgrowths on the skin. Some moles could be present from birth (typically known as birthmarks), while some could appear later on in life due to specific circumstances.

Generally, moles are not dangerous. Almost all people of the world have moles on their skins at different places. But in rare instances, moles can turn into melanomas, which are cancerous tumors on the skin. Such cancerous moles will undergo various changes in their appearance. Their color will darken. Such moles need to be surgically or cosmetically removed. Moles that are constantly irritated by clothes, belts, buckles and shoes have a high chance of getting converted into melanomas, and so also moles that are exposed too much to the hot sun could become cancerous. But these are rare incidences. Only if there is some inexplicable change in the shape, size or color of the mole would you need medical attention.

Moles can actually be used to one’s advantage. People like Cindy Crawford and Madonna flaunt their moles and use it as a means to increase their sex appeal. However, moles can be ungainly on some people. For people who want to remove their moles by non-surgical methods, there are various options available.

(1) Useful Herbs in the Treatment of Moles

1. Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale)
Dandelion is extremely effective in the removal of warty moles. The root of the dandelion must be rubbed on the mole till the time its juices exude and smear the mole completely. Repeating this twice or thrice a day helps to remove the moles.

2. Flaxseed or Linseed (Linus usitatissimum)
Flaxseed has been used since traditional times for the treatment of moles. It is directly applied over the moles in a particular manner. Within a few days the moles do disappear.

3. Garlic (Allium sativum)
Garlic is also a good remedy for moles. It is crushed into a paste and applied on the moles for a few days.

4. Onion (Allium cepa)
Some warty moles can disappear when the juice of an onion bulb is rubbed over them. However this method is not guaranteed and may work only on smaller moles.

(2) Dietary Treatments for Moles

Potassium is very beneficial to people who wish to get rid of their moles. Apples contain a high proportion of potassium, especially in the form of apple cider vinegar. Other fruits that contain potassium are avocado, cantaloupe, bananas and grapefruit. Potatoes, lima beans, kidney beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach are also good sources of potassium.

There is no relation that any kind of food increases moles in people. Hence, there are no dietary contra-indications for moles.

(3) Home Remedies for Moles

1. Prepare a mixture of finely ground flaxseed in flaxseed oil. Add a dash of raw honey to the mixture. Apply this on the moles everyday. Within a couple of weeks, the moles fade and disappear.

2. Cut a pineapple and apply its fresh juice on the moles. Repeat this several times in a day. This is a quick method to get rid of the moles. Within just a couple of days, the moles will diminish and fade out.

3. The above method can also be done with the juice of a fresh fig instead of a pineapple.

4. Put a single drop of grapefruit juice on a cloth and tie it like a bandage on the mole. Change the bandage every five to six hours.

5. The juice of cauliflower can help the moles to drop off, especially if they are thicker warty moles. Apply the juice of a single cauliflower floret several times a day onto the mole. In about two to three days, the mole will likely fall off from the skin.

6. Honey by itself has curative properties to remove moles. Apply some honey onto the moles each morning.

7. Prepare a mixture of powder of dried and roasted pomegranate peel and juice of a lemon. Apply this mixture onto the moles for a few days in succession. The moles will eventually fade out and vanish, or they will directly fall off the skin.

8. If you already have moles, and do not wish to remove them, then be sure not to irritate the moles with your clothing or even by excessive exposure to the sun. If you do so, there is a risk that the mole will become cancerous. However if there is some definite change in the mole, then it is on its way to becoming cancerous. It must be removed immediately.

LASIK. Laser Eye Vision Correction. Is it the Right Choice for You?

LASIK, aka in-Situ Keratomileusis, has benefits over traditional eye surgery. The LASIK procedure goes under a protective layer of corneal tissue.

This procedure deals with less eye surface area which makes healing faster, as well as providing less chance for tissue scarring. It also allows for quicker healing times. The chance of corneal haze is greatly lessened as well. Patients will experience a quicker return of vision. Often within 24 hours of surgery.

Each procedure varies due to differences in vision and patients. Most patients will pass a drivers test without contacts or glasses after the LASIK surgery.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR LASIK?

If you have had fairly stable vision for the past year, LASIK may be right for you. It is recommended to not have a large change in vision over the past 12 months. Consult your physician if you have any doubts.

LASIK corrects the vision of people who are near-sighted, far-sighted, and have astigmatism. Patients must also meet basic medical and visual health criteria. Age should not be factor when considering LASIK. LASIK has been successfully performed LASIK on people between the ages of nineteen and sixty-eight!

If you are ready for a change in your life, to correct your vision, you are ready for LASIK.

Laser eye surgery, or LASIK, is not recommended while taking some medications. Consult your physician or surgeon. It is not recommended for women who are pregnant or nursing.

At Robbins Eye Center your consultation will determine your candidacy. Dr. Robbins will discuss with you whether your prognosis is optimal for the LASIK procedure. Hopefully you will be a great candidate and be able to opt for the best choice of your life - IMPROVED NATURAL VISION!

BENEFITS OF LASIK

The main benefit of LASIK is the fact that you will no longer need your glasses or contacts to see. This is a permanent correction of your vision that may last for your lifetime.

LASIK is painless. LASIK conveniently corrects the vision in both of your eyes at the same time. You will be out of the Vision Center in less than two hours. You may return to work the very next day. You'll save money on glasses and contacts and all that goes with them.

Generally patients return to driving and work the very next day. Your vision will improve gradually over the first 24 hours till the full effect of the surgery is realized.

ABOUT THE PROCEDURE

Your eyes will be numbed using anesthesia contained in eye drops. Your eye will be held open with a small holder in order to prevent you from blinking and creating a problem during the procedure.

Your surgeon will use something called a microkeratome to make a little "flap" in the cornea. You will look directly into a light and the procedure will be performed to reshape your cornea. This is generally accomplished in less than a minute! You may feel some pressure on the eye but no pain or discomfort. The protective flap will be folded back where it bonds with your eye with any stitches or other means of securing it. Your eye heals itself!

Gain Control and Lose Weight with Lap Band Surgery

Many people want and need to lose weight but can't seem to make any progress. Having surgery to lose weight is good for seriously overweight patients who have tried and failed other treatments. Studies have shown that weight-loss surgery such as lap band surgery has helped patients to sustain their weight loss longer than non-surgical therapies. By having this surgery, you will be on the road to better health and improving your quality of life.

What is Lap Band Surgery?

The safest and least invasive weight-loss surgery is the lap band surgery. There is no stomach cutting, stapling, or gastrointestinal re-routing involved in the lap band surgery. This reduces post-operative pain and hastens recovery. The name "lap-band' comes from the surgical technique, laparoscopic, and the name of the implanted device.

During the procedure, the lap band surgeon usually uses the laparoscopic technique. Instead of making a large incision, they make tiny incisions and use instruments to insert the lap band. There is less of a chance of side effects and nutritional deficiencies that are often associated with gastric surgeries.

Lap band surgery involves placing an adjustable gastric band around the upper stomach to create a smaller stomach pocket. This limits the amount of food a person can consume at one time. With a smaller stomach, you feel full faster, and the food moves more slowly between your upper and lower stomach. This helps you to eat less and lose weight.

Once the band is placed around the stomach, it is connected to an access port in the skin of your abdomen. The surgeon can then inject the inside of the stomach with saline solution. This adjusts the size of the stomach outlet to restrict the amount of food that can be moved through it. This process helps determine the rate of weight loss. It can be adjusted to individual needs as you lose weight or help speed up weight loss. It can be adjusted or removed without surgery.

Learning to Eat After Surgery

After surgery there are some dietary limitations that are advantageous for the patient. For the first three to four days following surgery, patients must have a clear liquid diet. This gives the patient time to adjust to the new stomach and avoid complications. For the first three months after surgery, no caffeine drinks such as coffee, tea, or soda are allowed. Carbonated drinks are not recommended because they can cause gas and bloating. They could also cause the stomach size to increase because of the carbonation.

The next phase is a modified liquid diet that helps you adjust to eating small meals. You will be given instructions on how much protein and vegetables to eat. The lap band diet does not include most bread, potatoes or starchy foods. You will be encouraged to eat a lot of protein to avoid a deficiency and side effects.

Lose Weight and Keep It Off

After lap band surgery, you will learn to eat small bites and eat slowly. There will be some foods that will be ruled out to avoid causing digestive problems. As you begin to lose weight these adjustments in diet will become a new way of life.

To save money, you can check on having the surgery in Mexico. There are websites that give information on doctors and clinics in both the U.S. and Mexico. There are new options available for people who cannot lose weight and keep it off. Find out if lapband surgery would work for you.

Weight Loss Hidden Secrets

Today’s society surrounds the media with the newest weight loss program, supplement, and solution that leaves them right where they began. But they make millions of dollars so why they people seeking weight loss the truth? There is absolutely no need too.

Ever since I became so passionate about health, fitness, and nutrition all my research, training, and experimenting has proven several weight loss tips, tricks, and flat out common sense methods for losing weight that are incredible.

1) Eat Breakfast

With people’s busy schedules and not enough time in the mornings, breakfast becomes a low priority and often never eating. If you are serious about reaching your weight loss goals than eating a healthy breakfast is vital.

Think of breakfast as a jumpstart to your metabolism, and it was proven that people who eat a healthy breakfast are energized throughout the day, burn more calories, and controls late night eating binges. In fact, they believe people that don’t eat breakfast only burn 2/3 the calories they would normally burn if they ate breakfast.

2) Weight Training

The reason I use the phrase “weight training,” is because it defines using heavier weight to tax your body. By taxing your body to a certain point it helps you build lean muscle tissue that tone and slims your body for over all incredible weight loss results.

Most women and some men fear using weights as they fear getting bulky. But actually it should be the least of their worries. Depending on their body type it is very hard to gain a large amount of muscle, and most gains will be lean muscle that will benefit them more than they could imagine.

Just think that every pound of muscle you have on your body take 50 calories a day to maintain it, so the leaner muscle you have the more calories you burn in a day. Another interesting fact about weight training is that your body will have an after burn up to 78 hours after your last workout.

Again, by taxing your body to a certain point your resting metabolic rate (RMR) will increase while you are sitting or even sleeping. That is around 18,250 calories a year, and almost 5 1/2 pounds of fat for doing nothing. And, that's only one pound! Increasing lean body mass is important as people in their mid 20's lose 1/2 to 3/4 pounds of lean body mass a year. Just one more thing that should motivate you to use weights is using weights burns calories up to 72 hours after the workout. Resistance training is a must when learning how to lose weight quickly, and remember you are never too old.

3) Sleep

Some people ask me why sleep is important for weight loss? I must say when learning how to lose weight quickly, sleep is more vital than ever to relieve stress, have energy, and loss weight.

Sleep loss is shown to affect the secretion of cortisol, a hormone that regulates appetite leading you to feeling hungry and storing fat around your abdomen area. Not only that, but loss of sleep enables your body to metabolize carbohydrates resulting in excess sugar that develops insulin resistance and long story short; your carbohydrates turn into fat. To avoid these side affects it is recommended that you get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night.

“Wow, I won’t have enough time in the day to get stuff done.” Now, instead of thinking about the length of sleep, think more about the quality of sleep. If I got 8 hours of sleep a day my life during the day would be crazy as I would have so much to do and so little time to get it done in. And here’s the solution. I have discovered a way that left me more energized, better workouts while getting 1-3 hours less sleep. I use to rely on caffeinated drinks to get me through the day but now I have more energy than ever.

4) Cycling 5-6 Meals A Day

Now, this lesson on how to lose weight quickly on eating 5 to 6 meals a day does not mean you can eat whatever you want, not at all. Eating frequent meals and snacks keeps your metabolism burning at a much higher rate than people that only eat 3, 2 or even only 1 meals a day.

Think about this for a second…

Every time you eat your body produces heat and the heat accelerates your metabolism as it's breaking down your food. After digesting the food your body dips into your fat storages burning fat for energy. Eating smaller meals more frequently will have your body dipping into your fat storages a lot more aiding in weight loss. Not only that but keeping your body away from high blood sugar levels limiting fat storage.

Want to learn more on how to lose weight quickly? That is where cycling comes into play. Mostly, calorie cycling is having high days and low days and not keeping your calorie intake the same. What I have learned and what has worked best for me is cycling the carbs and keeping your protein and fat intake the same. Having high and low days with carbohydrates increases your metabolism while burning calories and staying elevated on low days. Just remember that your metabolism try' s to maintain your homeostasis meaning a resting metabolic rate, and keeping thing the same so by cycling your calories your metabolism has to keep guessing resulting in more calories burned while doing nothing.

5) Drink Water
Most people know that our bodies consist of mostly water and to be exact about 80% water. Then why don’t we base our fluids on drinking mostly water as it is very important in this lesson on how to lose weight quickly? One of the myths that I have heard lately is that water will make you bloat up and gain weight.

First, the only weight you should be trying to lose is fat and second, water does not make you bloat up it actually helps flush out your system of all the toxins and helps lubricates your joints. If you do not get enough water yes you will lose weight. But the weight you will lose is water and muscle that will slow down your metabolism, dehydration occurs and fat just piles right on your body. When you drink enough water your body is able to do all its function and aids in burning that unwanted fat.

Try to drink at least ten 8 ounce glasses of water every day and limit your caffeinated and favored liquids that you love so much for awhile. Another tip on how to lose weight quickly is to try drinking a glass or two when you wake up as it will prepare your body for the day ahead of fat burning. Or what I found that worked was going between drinking cold water and hot water to make your body burn more calories to keep your body temperature changing. But that a little excessive so just try to increase your water in take.

If it’s hard for you to limit your other liquids and drink mostly water just do the best you can and remember every thing the water is doing for you.

Have a great day and God bless!

Best Fat Burning Foods

These superior fat burning foods are recommended by Tom Venuto and have some of the best nutrition value while keeping you fuller to cut down on the calories you normally consume.

Make sure that you get a variety of foods into your diet as these should only be a foundation of healthy eating foods. So here are the leading ten healthiest fat burning foods you can eat for weight loss.

1) Oatmeal

If you had to eat one and only one type of complex carbohydrate to burn fat than oatmeal should become your #1 choice for losing weight. Oatmeal is practically the only complex carbohydrate source bodybuilders and fitness professionals eat when they are burning fat for their competition.

Even though it is a starchy carbohydrate, oatmeal has an excellent balance of carbs, proteins, and fats in it as a half of cup has 3 grams of fats, 27 grams of carbs, and 5 grams of protein. With the combinations of macro nutrients, oatmeal is a healthy choice for its low glycemic rate for slow digestion.

2) Yams (or sweet potatoes)

The second best choice for eating healthy with starchy carbohydrates is yams and sweet potatoes. They are all-natural, low in calories, and with a high nutrient value, it has them being an excellent selection for a fat burning food.

With a low glycemic index having it keeping you fuller longer and digestion slower explains why fitness professionals recommend it for losing weight.

3) 100% Whole Wheat and Whole Grain Products

As it is recommended in all the food pyramids, breads and grains should be a huge part in eating healthy but the rule is they must be 100% whole grain and whole wheat. If you consume white bread then kiss your fat burning goals goodbye as white bread is one of the worst things you can put in your body.

When your goal is weight loss and burning fat keep the focus on breads and grains to a minimum while also only consuming only 100% whole grain and whole wheat.

4) Green Vegetables

Fibrous carbs are the #1 choice for burning fat with carbohydrates. Just think of green vegetables as having very little calories with a huge amount of nutritionist value. If you want to lose weight than focus on eating green vegetables with lean protein and your body will turn into a fat burning machine.

5) Fresh Fruit

Whole and fresh fruits are filled with vitamins that will keep you healthy, energized and burning fat all day long. Most fruits are low in calories, carbs, and high in fiber that makes them a fantastic choice for developing a lean and toned body.

6) Skin Milk and Nonfat Dairy Products

Dairy products are great for weight loss when they are nonfat or skin as others can be every dense in fat and calories. Dairy products have a combination of proteins and carbohydrates that makes them an excellent choice for implementing them into your weight loss eating program.

Stick with lean and nonfat products to keep the calories low and the nutrition value high making them a healthier choice for burning fat and eating healthy.

7) Chicken and Turkey Breast

Chicken and turkey I believe are the number one selection for protein in ones diet. By removing the skin and eating the white meat keeps it consisting of mostly protein for filling you up and eating less at the same time. Whatever way you cook them stay away from frying as that can turn an extremely healthy food into a dieter’s nightmare.

8) Eggs Whites

4 to 6 grams of protein, zero carbs, and zero fats makes egg whites a dieter’s life that much easier. Eggs whites are super-high quality protein but when eating the yoke becomes a habit, say hello to higher cholesterol levels and about 50 more calories that will just go to fat. Keep egg whites a healthy option for you by only eating the white part and putting the yokes in the trash.

9) Fish

Eating a variety of proteins is one of the things complained about the most as many bodybuilders and fitness professionals stick to only eggs, tune, and chicken. By implementing different kinds of fish you are giving yourself a variety of sources of protein to burn fat and lean out your body.

Also add in seafood like shrimp, crab, lobster, mussels, etc. as these all are great sources of protein that are low in fat.

10) Lean Red Meats

Finding good sources of lean red meats can become a struggle but they have many benefits like being high in protein, B-12. iron and creatine. By keeping our portion sizes small and choosing the leaner red meats it can also be a great food source for burning fat and weight loss.

These 10 fat burning foods are not the only foods good for healthy nutrition and weight loss but should help you start a foundation on what foods are good for eating healthy.

Have a great day and God bless!

Could Hidden Parasites Be Keeping You Fat?

Horrible parasites may well be the reason that you cannot lose weight now matter what you try.

You may have found that no matter what type of diet you have tried – whether it was reducing calories, increasing or reducing carbohydrates, fat or protein intakes, exercising till your heart drops out that no matter what you cannot lose the extra pounds and weight.

According to the WHO – the World Health Organization, 3.5 billion – yes that is right billions not millions of people throughout the world suffer from types of parasitic infestations and infections. You would think because you live in the clean modern US of A that you are immune and safe from these problems. Not so. Not all of these people of the 3.5 billion. Since the world population is estimated at 6.5 billion and since 3.5 billions are thought to be infected might it not happen to you?

Parasitic infestations may be severe or mild and can be life threatening, they may be apparently symptom less and go on for years. You may never even know that you are infected by parasites unless it becomes a problems that is apparent – such as poor absorption of critical vitamins leading to anemia or weight loss that is found to be the result of a large tapeworm or worms.

However in your case the direct cause of that weight gain that seems to be permanent and will never go away no matter what you do may well be those so called hidden insidious parasites.

Believe it or not parasites are a hidden major source of weight gain. Fish or meat that is raw, rare or cooked in a microwave oven is not exposed to the high heat necessary to kill those evil weight causing parasites like worms and protozoa and their offspring. Once in the gut these hardy creatures absorb the nutrients necessary to keep blood sugar levels balanced and energy levels for you high. As a result you may have sugar cravings in addition to chronic fatigue and even depression. Further since the body’s food intake feedback control system has been short-circuited biochemical signals that are normally correct are no erroneously reporting to your body and brain that you are in hunger further causing you to mistakenly overeat.

In essence the parasites are tricking your body into having you eat more so that they can be well fed and reproduce. So crafty. And at your expense in terms of calorie intake and weight gain.

What can be done? The first step is awareness and prevention. Choose your meals and preparation types well. Have your food especially meats well cooked in a proper hot oven. It may be hard for you though if it is your preference to miss that rare steak.

Secondly be very careful when you are on vacation especially to exotic climes including third world countries where sanitation and proper hygiene may not be the norm. Remember that seemingly innocent things like ice to cool a drink may be suspect.
Lastly be careful of water born parasites. If in doubt boil the water over a stove or in a kettle or coffee pot. And as well be careful if you swim away from chlorinated swimming pools.

Lastly if you are concerned that hidden parasites may well be the cause of you weight gain visit your health practitioner so that the appropriate tests and measures be done.

Get Rid Of Toxins And You Will Lose Weight Fast

TOXINS
Have you ever asked yourself this question, why is it today
we have more obese people? Up 67% of the population are
overweight today. There were a great lot less many years ago.
A few, but in no way were they around as they are today, and
believe me it will get worse. It will not get any better
unless people educate themselves. Unless they know
why this is happening, the problem will continue to grow.

Think of this; in the 1950' and 60's we never had so many obese
people as we have today. In fact, I believe people did not get
fat, they just did not like to draw attention to themselves.
I guess there were one or two around, however lot too many.
Don't tell me it was because some of us did not have enough to
eat, because even then we had those who were financially
comfortable but did look after themselves. Their health and
well being was as it should be.

We did not see overweight people as we see today. I recall I
went to Las Vegas and observed numerous ladies sitting next
to slot machines pumping in their quarters These ladies
definitely fitted what I refer to as obese.

Weight loss for good, is the goal of anyone unhappy with
their current size or shape. The information on this web
site is aimed at anyone who wants to lose weight and keep it
off.

We don't have to tell you, being obese can have serious
consequences to your health. These include an increased risk
of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes,
gallstones, and some forms of cancer. Losing weight can help
reduce each of these risks.

According to research by the Discovery Health Channel, 50
percent of children do not get enough exercise to develop
healthy heart and lung systems. Furthermore, 78 percent have
at least one heart disease risk and 20 to 30 percent are
already obese. Adults are in even worse shape with 64 percent
not getting enough exercise to maintain healthy heart and lung
systems, 24 percent never exercise, and more than 45 percent
are overweight.

Victims of a Toxic Colon

Have you ever considered this simple question: Are you clean
inside? We shower, brush our teeth and wash our hair on a daily
basis, but we tend to ignore cleansing our insides until some
form of disease sends us a wake-up call. Believe it or not,
our insides, especially the colon which functions as the
"sewer system" of our body, also requires regular cleaning.
Constipation, parasites, IBS, gas, bloating, stomach pain,
chronic fatigue, digestive problems can all be signs of a
toxic colon. Don't be a victim, suffering silently from these
painful and often embarrassing health conditions. Find out the
truth about colon cleansing and how it can help you.

Why Is Colon Cleansing So Crucial?

We are all exposed to thousands of toxins and chemicals on a
daily basis at work, in the home, through the air we breathe,
our food and water supply, and through the use of harmaceutical
drugs. In addition, we are eating more sugar and processed foods
than ever before in human history and regularly abuse our bodies
with various stimulants and sedatives.

"Death Begins in the Colon"

These toxins and "dead" foods lead to poor digestion,
constipation, toxic colon build-up, weight gain and low energy.
These common symptoms are more than just an inconvenience
they can lead to long-term health problems and serious disease.

"Of all the polite topics of conversation, the state of one's
intestines is probably at the bottom of most people's lists.
Let's face it: Irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, gas,
diverticulitis and colon cancer are simply not things we like
to discuss. And yet, as the old expression goes, death begins
in the colon. Don't believe it? Ask any coroner. Autopsies often
reveal colons that are plugged up to 80 percent with waste
material." Vegetarian Times, March, 1998

"Parasites May Rule the World"

This waste material is home to, in the words of National
Geographic, "a sinister world of monstrous creatures that feed
on living flesh: parasites". Discover magazine published a
feature article in its August 2000 issue: "Every living thing
has at least one parasite that lives inside or on it, and many,
including humans, have far more. ...Scientists…are only just
beginning to discover exactly how powerful these hidden
inhabitants can be, but their research is pointing to a
remarkable possibility: Parasites may rule the world. The notion
that tiny creatures we've largely taken for granted are such a
dominant force is immensely disturbing. We are collections of
cells that work together, kept harmonized by chemical signals.
If an organism can control those signals an organism like a
parasite then it can control us. And therein lies the peculiar
and precise horror of parasites."

The combination of environmental toxins, an unhealthy diet and
parasites poses a grave danger to humans. "In fact, parasites
have killed more humans than all the wars in history", reported
National Geographic in its award-winning documentary,
The Body Snatchers.

In order to rid ourselves of these toxins it was required
someone came up with a body cleanse which would be able to clean
out the fat particles, and the toxins from the colon, liver,
kidneys and lungs, plus all the other organs. I am happy to
say I used John Anderson's natural cleanse, after I used it I
felt 100% better and full of energy.

Dental Hygiene

This is the technical meaning of “healthy fat.” Your body needs these fats to function properly, yet it doesn't produce it on it's own.

Flax Seed Oil contains omega-6 and omega-9 essential fatty acids, B vitamins, potassium, lecithin, magnesium, fiber, protein, and zinc.

Flax seeds may come in different colors, but the colors don’t anything to do with the value of their nutrition. They are all equally beneficial to you. Although drugs have very important clinical uses, they are only part of the solution. A comprehensive approach to treating cognitive disorders should include foods and supplements that benefit the overall health of brain cells.

Like olive, canola, and most other plant oils, flax seed oil is highly unsaturated and heart-healthy.

Dental Hygiene, an Ancient Practice - The History of the Toothbrush

One of the most asked questions by adults and children is the origin of the toothbrush. There are several schools of thought on when the real toothbrush was created, but you need to look far into the past for the first evidences of oral hygiene.

The Chinese were believed to create the first real toothbrush, or a device that was used to clean teeth, but it was much different than the ones that we are used to today. These first toothbrushes, crafted in the 1400s, did not use nylon for bristles, or plastic for the handles. They were crafted from bamboo, one of the most common plants from that area. The bamboo formed the handle for people to hold on to. Attached to this handle was a set of bristles, which were crafted from the tough hair of the Siberian wild boar. The hairs used came from the back of the neck of this animal. This is the toothbrush associated with having been the ancestor of the one that we use today.

However, there is evidence that there was another form of the toothbrush dating up to 3000 years before the birth of Christ. Due to this, the history of the toothbrush proves that this device is one of the oldest still used by man, only truly outdated by the wheel. This form of the toothbrush was found within pyramids of the Egyptians. These toothbrushes were crafted from a stick. Unlike the Chinese version of the toothbrush, the end of the stick was flayed so that the fibers of the wood were more soft. This stick was then rubbed against the teeth to serve as a form of oral hygiene. This form of the toothbrush did not become far spread as the Chinese version. The Chinese version of the toothbrush spread to Europe, where the Siberian wild boar took the brunt of the growing popularity of the invention. The only downside to the hairs of the Siberian wild boar was the fact that it was very rough on the gums. On account of this, some people began to use the hairs found on the backs of horses to craft the bristles on their brushes, as this was much easier on their gums and teeth. Despite the added softness of the horse hair bristles, the boar hairs were more commonly used, as horses were too valuable to Europeans during this period of time.

The boar hair toothbrush continued to be used until the early 1900s. In 1937, nylon was created in the Du Pont laboratories by Wallace H. Carothers. This invention forever changed the history of the toothbrush, as well as every other device that required a fibrous material, including ropes. In 1938, Nylon became the sign of modernization, from the creation of nylon stockings to Dr. West's first nylon toothbrush. This brush was called Dr. West's Miracle Toothbrush. Even with this breakthrough in the toothbrush, it wasn't until World War II that Americans began to take oral hygiene more seriously. This was a direct result of the war. This influence spurred on the development of better toothbrushes.

Toothpaste & Whiteners

The fiber in flaxseeds may also help against cholesterol, since it is soluble (similar to that in oats).

Flax seeds contain vitamin E and B. The seeds are also rich in zinc, iron, copper, magnesium, nickel, calcium and many other essential minerals.

Diets high in lignans can lead to a lower chance of getting colon, prostate, and breast cancer. Flax is 100 times richer in lignan than most whole grains. Like most vegetable oils, flaxseed oil contains linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid needed for survival. But unlike most oils, it also contains significant amounts of another essential fatty acid, alpha linolenic acid (ALA).

The primary sources of omega-6 are corn, soy, canola, safflower and sunflower oil; these oils are overabundant in the typical diet, which explains our excess omega-6 levels. Another aspect of toothbrush history that should be taken into account is toothpaste and other whiteners. These are usually used with the toothbrush in order to make certain that the teeth and breath were acceptable. The concept of toothpaste and mouth washes is pretty old - almost as old as the Egyptians toothbrush. The earliest known toothpaste was created by the Egyptians. It was said to contain a drachma of rock salt, two drachmas of mint, one drachma of dried iris flowers and 20 grains of pepper. This was then crushed and mixed together to form a powder. When mixed with saliva and applied to the teeth, it would help whiten and clean your teeth. When experimented with by an Australian dentist, the mixture worked far better than anything else created until the twenty first century. The only downside was the fact that it caused his gums to bleed.

In the 18th Century, the next recorded version of toothpaste occurred. This mixture called for dragon's blood, cinnamon and burn alum. This mixture tends to be more of an amusement for many scientists, as there is no proof that "dragon's" existed. What may have really been considered to be dragon's blood is unknown. The 19th Century saw a lot of innovations to toothpaste, although many of them would be repulsive compared to what we are used to today. Charcoal, for example, was used to clean teeth. Most of the toothpastes of this time were powders that became a paste when introduced to saliva. A lot of these different toothpastes were designed to both clean teeth and give the user better breath. This is where the modern idea for toothpaste came of, and one of the turn points in the history of toothpaste. The combination of these pastes and the toothbrush worked to ensure that there was a higher chance of cleaner and healthier teeth and gums.

It wasn't until the 1900s that toothpastes evolved to be more modern. Colgate, and many other toothpaste companies, worked to design toothpastes that tasted good while providing the means to clean teeth while not causing gums to bleed. Many ingredients are now used in toothpastes, with Fluoride being one of the most common. There are a wide variety of "herbal" toothpastes as well, which do not contain this component. Each of these types are designed to fit the needs and wants of every type of person out there. This high level of choice is the primary evolution of toothpastes. While only a few were available as early as the Egyptian days, now there is something for everyone. The combination of the toothpaste and modern toothbrush gives everyone the oral hygiene and dental health that they need to be able to have the sparkling teeth that is desired by so many. This combination also helps prevent the loss of your teeth later in life, so that dentures are not required as early. The history of the toothbrush and toothpaste shouldn't be looked down upon, as the options used back then were no where near as pleasant as the types available today.

There is nothing as profitable to a drug company as a patient who is forced to take some drug for the rest of his life - heart medications fit in that category.

In this Omega-3 benefits and facts section you will learn the basics about omega-3 essential fatty acids (EFA) from fish oils and their function in our bodies. Flax seed oil is rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), an essential fatty acid that appears to be very helpful for heart inflammatory bowel disease, disease, arthritis and a variety of other health conditions.

Where to Get Omeaga 3 and Omega 6 Oil?

Does Omega 3 Lowers Cholesterol? Does Flaxseed Oil Prevent Cancer too? Whereas plant foods and vegetable oils lack EPA and DHA, some do contain varying amounts of the n-3 PUFA alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which has 18 carbon atoms and 3 double bonds. Most of the nutrients are contains in the flax seed. So from a nutritional standpoint, flax seeds are the way to go. BUT, the flax seed oil gives you a concentrated source of the "good" fats we are looking for. Which would give the oil an edge!

Tianeptine Drug Information

What is Tianeptine and for what Tianeptine is used?

Tianeptine belongs to the antidepressant class and is chemically related to amineptine. It is a serotonin reuptake accelerator and works opposite to the action of SSRI's. Like the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and in contrast with most tricyclic antidepressant agents, Tianeptine does not appear to be associated with adverse cognitive, psychomotor, sleep, cardiovascular or bodyweight effects and has a low propensity for abuse.

The antidepressant and anxiolytic properties of Tianeptine and its action on somatic complaints make this medicine particularly suitable for the treatment of the entire range of depressive symptomatology. Stablon and Coaxil are other names for Tianeptine.

Tianeptine differs from most antidepressants in that it is not primarily metabolised by the hepatic cytochrome P450 system, indicating less likelihood of drug-drug interactions; this is of particular interest for elderly patients. Tianeptine medicine is used in major depression, depressed bipolar disorder, dysthymia or adjustment disorder.
